Make sure that you clone the git repository, and then check out the master, debian and pristine-tar branches. Also check out the patches branch if you need to drop or add and additional patches against upstream. 2. Import upstream sources: git-import-orig --upstream-version=$version --sign-tags --pristine-tar $tar 3. Update debian changelog on the master branch: dch -v $version and commit. 4. Drop or add any patches from the patches branch. This is used to create the quilt patch series. You'll want to rebase this branch against the new upstream release first: git rebase -i upstream/$version to remove any patches incorporated upstream. Then add any new patches needed. Finally, run: debian/rules update-patch-series to regenerate the patches. Commit the changes to the master branch. 5. Push all branches and tags. Users of these backends need to migrate their print queues to use the standard backends such as "usb", "parallel" and "socket", which now contain the functionality of the old backends. The package postinst script will attempt to automatically upgrade your print queues to use the appropriate backend, but the queues should be checked to make sure that the correct backend has been selected. In particular, USB printers will require the print queue to be modified to use the correct IEEE-1284 device ID. The device IDs for the USB printers currently connected to the system may be viewed by running /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb or for all printers with lpinfo -v and set with lpadmin -p PRINTER -v 'usb://DEVICE-ID' Alternatively, this may be done using the CUPS web interface by browsing to https://localhost:631/printers and then choosing "Modify Printer" for each printer in question. The available printers will be shown in a list. -- Roger Leigh Sat, 01 Nov 2008 16:40:05 +0000 debian/printer-driver-gutenprint.lintian-overrides0000664000000000000000000000012612315075573017730 0ustar cups: non-standard-executable-perm usr/lib/cups/backend/gutenprint52+usb 0700 != 0755 debian/changelog0000664000000000000000000016374212315120554011055 0ustar gutenprint (5.2.10~pre2-0ubuntu2) trusty; urgency=medium * debian/patches/usb-backend-no-crash-on-libusb-failure.patch: Upstream patch to fix the gutenprint52+usb CUPS backend crashing on failure of USB access via libusb (LP: #1297326). * debian/rules, debian/printer-driver-gutenprint.lintian-overrides: Set gutenprint52+usb CUPS backend to 700 permissions so that CUPS runs it as root (LP: #1297326). * debian/rules: Touch the *.ppd-updater files in override_dh_fixperms, as in override_dh_install-arch the change does not stay. -- Till Kamppeter Tue, 18 Mar 2014 23:13:37 +0100 gutenprint (5.2.10~pre2-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=medium * New upstream release o Minor bug fixes. * debian/patches/fix-big-endian.patch: Removed, fixed upstream. -- Till Kamppeter Tue, 18 Mar 2014 23:13:37 +0100 gutenprint (5.2.10~pre1-0ubuntu2) trusty; urgency=medium * Fix FTBFS on big-endian machine, unmatched parenthesis and missing semicolon. -- Dimitri John Ledkov Wed, 19 Feb 2014 17:42:08 +0000 gutenprint (5.2.10~pre1-0ubuntu1) trusty; urgency=low * New upstream release o Added a unified CUPS backend to support selected dye sublimation printers. o Added support for many new Epson and Canon inkjets and for many dye sublimation printers. Gutenprint is the print facility for the GIMP, and in addition a suite of drivers that may be used with common UNIX spooling systems using Ghostscript or CUPS. These drivers provide printing quality for UNIX/Linux on a par with proprietary vendor-supplied drivers in many cases, and can be used for many of the most demanding printing tasks. A complete list of supported printers may be found in the NEWS file. On Debian GNU/Linux, the NEWS file is called `changelog.gz'. Documentation can be found in the gutenprint-doc package, which covers the use of libgutenprint-based programs, and the libgutenprint-doc package, which covers developing programs using libgutenprint. -- Roger Leigh , Fri, 09 May 2008 17:02:10 +0100 debian/libgutenprint-dev.install.in0000664000000000000000000000027311777042667014652 0ustar debian/install/@LIBDIR@/libgutenprint.so @LIBDIR@ debian/install/@LIBDIR@/pkgconfig/gutenprint.pc @LIBDIR@/pkgconfig debian/install/usr/include/gutenprint usr/include debian/gutenprint-locales.install.in0000664000000000000000000000005311777042667015023 0ustar debian/install/usr/share/locale usr/share debian/libgutenprint-doc.doc-base.developer0000664000000000000000000000134511777042667016230 0ustar Document: libgutenprint-doc-developer Title: The libgutenprint Reference Manual Author: The Gutenprint Project Abstract: The gutenprint library routines give programmers an interface to print high quality bitmap images on most modern printers.
